Arctic fjords are deep, narrow sea inlets formed by glaciers over thousands of years. As the glaciers moved and melted, they created valleys with steep cliffs and mountains on each side, which were later filled by the sea. This process resulted in the dramatic landscapes that make Arctic fjords so breathtaking.
Arctic fjords, like those near Tromso, stand out because of their location in the far north, which creates unique environmental conditions. Unlike fjords in warmer regions, these are bordered by snow-covered mountains, and their colder, pristine waters are filled with marine life rarely seen anywhere else.
